Positive Energy

Sometimes I can get all caught up in the negative. I've decided to go on a negativity diet! I'm turning off any bad news channels. I won't read gossip columns or depressing reports. I won't occupy my time with anything or anybody that will bring me down. I don't have time for it.

Today, I choose positive thinking, good energy, and a can-do attitude.

And, I'm going to have an attitude of gratitude for the blessings I've had, have, and will have.

Getting Started in 2010

At first, I wasn't going to make any New Year's Resolutions. I didn't want to set myself up for failure. But then I realized that if I resolve to do something, all I really need to commit to is getting started.

I have taken it upon myself to name my year. For me, 2010 will be the year of "Great Performances". All I need to do is get started, and if I fall behind, that's okay...because all I'll need to do to get back on track is to simply get started again.

I resolve to perform my music with my newly assembled band, Sirena, at terrific venues. The goal is for us to have fun while we're sounding hot and tight. To get started, I have already sung in a jam session, hosted our first band meeting/practice for the year, and submitted our music for film and television placement.

I also resolve to perform as a great sales person, and make all of my clients happy with my results. To get started, I have met all my weekly sales goals for each client, and helped closed some deals. This sets a wonderful tone for my sales performance in the new year.

Lastly, since teaching is a performance art in its own right (right along with sales), I intend to teach in such a manner that my students will have their own great performance. To get started, I have been honored to teach 2 classes that received great reviews from my students, and have been recruited to fill a new teaching position at a local adult school.

If I continue doing what I'm doing the rest of the year, I'm going to be on fire! If I fall behind, I'll give my inner critic "the finger" and get started on it again.
